According to the case study, a patient is admitted to the post-suicide attempt unit and has a medical history of schizophrenia and depression and is currently hallucinating. However, the facility at the time of the patient’s admission did not have a psychiatrist on duty, and the nearest healthcare center with a psychiatric unit was one hour drive. However, the hospital (St. Theresa’s Hospital) is a Tri-State Health Care Alliance Member and has connections with the regional hospital where a psychiatrist is present in the emergency department.

Age is one of the factors which influences the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs. As a result, when prescribing medications, the health professionals always factor a combination of several aspects age being one of them. The older people experience impairments in several organs of the body such as hepatic and renal parts which are extremely important in the cleansing and absorption of regimes (Arcangelo & Peterson, 2013). There are delays and impairments in the absorption of orally administered drugs in old age. Furthermore, the volume of distribution of the majority of the drugs decreases with age.

The case study presents a patient who is complaining of nausea, abdominal discomfort, vomiting and diarrhea, weight loss and lack of appetite. The patient was in the clinic four weeks ago and diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. From the review of the case study and the diagnosis done by the clinicians, the patient was suffering from the Crohn’s disease, which is an inflammatory bowel disease. Crohn’s disease is a condition in the gastrointestinal tract that causes abdominal pain, fatigue, loss of weight, vomiting, and diarrhea.

According to the case study, the 19-years freshman college student remained brought in the school health centers with bilateral eye discomfort, which started 2 to 3 days ago. On further diagnosis, it remained noted that the bilateral issues were being experienced on both eyes. The gritty feeling is the physical examination that remained noted from the freshman college student. Ideally, this is not a good feeling since over time, and this can lead to the suffering of the eye, which includes blepharitis, Sjogren's syndrome, and dry eye.

These needs and features usually result in a therapeutic process that requires long term planning and constant care of around the clock (Fulton, 2014; Wodchis, et al., 2015; Coyne, 2014).

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) refers to a mental disorder of the neurodevelopmental type. Some of its features include difficulties in paying attention, too much activity, or difficulty controlling behavior which is inappropriate for a person's age (Cormier, 2008). A person suffering from this condition has trouble concentrating and focusing on tasks, has a tendency of acting without thinking, and faces difficulty sitting still. While condition may begin in early childhood, it can continue in adulthood. According to Eme (2012), if ADHD is not treated, it can result to problems at home, at learning institutions, at workplace, and with relationships (Parritz, 2013). This case considers an 8 year old girl who has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, predominantly inattentive presentation to determine the best therapy for the girl.

Alzheimer disorder is a continuous neurodegenerative disorder with a high statistical growth in the modern world. Research shows that the number of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disorder dementia is estimated to triple by the year 2050. The rise in Alzheimer’s Disorder prevalence has heightened the importance of more research on Alzheimer’s Disorder treatment. Past information and data have revealed that ancient medicine can be a source of motivation and inspiration to acquire new therapies (Maruish, 2012). There is a type of dementia in ancient Iranian medicine with similar signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disorder

Antipsychotic is a psychiatric drug that is availed through prescription and licensing to treat different mental health illness, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (Seeman, 2015). Other antipsychotics also treat extreme anxiety, physical problems like nausea, agitation as well as dementia. The antipsychotic prescription occurs in many different ways. Usually, it is taken orally in form of tablet or liquid and at other times, as depot injections. It is difficult to tell how an individual will respond to a given kind of prescription. This paper will argue using three decisions on how to prescribe medication to this case study ‘Puerto Rican woman with Comorbid addiction’.

Many types of research concerning the illness that affect the human have been done to help improve the living standard and eliminate worries that may be brought through abnormality in most of the organs of the body. The brain as one of the organs is associated with may illnesses. ADHD is one of the considered as a highly generic and brain-based syndrome, which is linked to the regulation of a particular set of the functions of the brain and related behaviors (Bird, 2017). According to Wolraich (2016), most of the cases of the people diagnosed with the disorder are found within the age bracket of 6 to 12 years. Therefore, the disorder has been linked to children inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness, which make them perform dismally when at school.

Having a cough in a day might make you think something went through the wrong pipe but when the coughing exceeds one or two months triggers a different calling band unwanted fears.in some cases when a cough persists one moth its common to think of common diseases such as tuberculosis or bronchitis or pneumonia .but in the case of the patient there is no symptoms of hemoptysis i.e.  Coughing up of blood stained mucus and also not showing any signs of wheezing or weight loss thus ruling out the chances of any of the above mentioned diseases. The patient being of 60 years plus there is need to know if the patient do smoke or does the cough interrupt sleep.

Hypertension is among the preventable contributors to death and diseases. Different evidence obtained from various controlled trials has highlighted the significance of using antihypertensive drugs to treat and reduce the health outcomes in patients suffering from the disease (James et al., 2013). In most cases, hypertension is a common condition evident in the primary care which leads to stroke, myocardial infarction, death, and even renal failures. To this effect, many patients need assurances that their blood pressure treatment will help in reducing the burden of the disease.
